Lasha Stewart

Tradition is boring. Identity is trifling. Who I am is who I never got to be, and yet who I always was.

I love creating art based on how I perceive emotions through color. I never really think about my color palette all too much. I open a tube of paint, and let the colors figure out what they want to be and where they want to go. When painting “Joy,” I couldn’t help but use all of the colors of the rainbow because that’s what it feels like to me. What it feels like to be joyful.
