Thread Revival: Wearable Art
The exhibition, Thread Revival: Wearable Art, features artists who work in upcycling, reusing, and reworking fabrics and materials to create new and exciting wearable pieces that say no to fast fashion. According to a study by Boston University, “Every year, people in the United States throw out more than 34 billion pounds of used textiles. Divided across the population, that’s more than 100 pounds of textile waste per person each year.” These artists make it their mission to combat this.

Seaside Salvage
The solo exhibition, Seaside Salvage, starring assemblage artist, Eduardo Jiménez, takes strides towards environmental change. In the wake of the pandemic, Jiménez committed to the daily ritual of sunrise strolls along the Jersey shore, cleaning up trash washed up and left behind. Equipped with a passion for art, design, and environmental justice, he began to breathe new life into the collected trash through his artwork, which beautifully explores the impact of manmade waste on the delicate ecosystems of our oceans.
